Balclutha Gardens Community Update
Gardens Look Great Thanks For All Your Help
I would like to thank everyone who has assisted Project Clutha with the re-development of the Town Hall Gardens.
18 months ago this project began and with assistance from the Clutha District Council, the support of the public, many businesses and a grant from the Community Trust of Otago, these gardens are 99% complete and look fantastic!
We would like to give a huge thanks to C Demie Contracting for Colins huge support and donation of labour and machining, Geoff Wilson Transport (woodchips), WE Perrin Carrier - for carting those lovely rocks from Poss and Annette Moores Farm at Owaka, Andrew Haulage (topsoil) Matau Gardens (superdirt), Diacks Nursery (for the beautiful plants), Ross Andrew Builders (tools), Edwards Engineering (for the awesome sculpture, that you will all have to wait and see!), Irene Mosley, the staff at Development House, Big River Promotions (for all your support and knowledge), Lorraine at Radio Clutha (for the fantastic support and promotion over the past year), Nicola Copeland (for initial idea and designs) and her great family who have there watering and tending to the gardens.
A big thank you also to all the public and staff, at the Balclutha Information Centre who have supported this voluntary project and have made this a joy to carry out. We all proud to be injecting something back into the community we have all got so much from.
The Christmas tree will be up soon, and when this is removed in January our new Clutha Country Sculpture will be erected, so keep an eye out for this.
On behalf of the Project Clutha committee, I thank you
Sarah Andrew
